Mary Pearl Vereen

December 19, 1933 — November 22, 2025

Macon

Mary Pearl Vereen, 91, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on November 22, 2025. She was born on December 19, 1933, in Conway, South Carolina, to the late William Claudius Cox and Lula James Cox.

She worked at Macon OBGYN for more than 35 years, forming close bonds with her coworkers, who became like a second family to her. Pearl treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness, love, and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took great joy in helping create the Christmas lights tradition on Glen Hill Court. Thanks to her enthusiasm, the neighborhood glowed brightly from Thanksgiving night until New Year’s Day for many years.

Pearl is survived by her husband Wes Vereen; daughter, Debbie Mason; grandchild Janna Mason (Cason Young), and great grandsons Mason Amerson, Rollins Amerson, Trey Amerson, and Jack Mason.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son Sid Vereen, grandson Cody Mason and son-in-law Steve Mason.
