Mary Buford Standard

Mary “Shug” Buford Standard, a lifetime resident of Bibb County, died July 10, 2024. She was the widow of the late Tom Standard and was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo Yarbrough; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buford; her sister Josephine Buford Harper; and her brothers, Hogan, Floyd, John, and Billy Buford.

Mrs. Standard is survived by her son, Billy (Robin) Asbell; four grandchildren, Ray (Laura) Yarbrough, Jessica (Jonathan) Oravec, Joshua Asbell, and Katie (Chris) Gates; and three great-grandchildren: Mary Grace Yarbrough, Hampton Yarbrough, and Jacob Oravec.

Dr. Jimmy Asbell will conduct a chapel service at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street, at 10:00 am Saturday, July 13, 2024. The family will greet friends following the service. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.
