Mary Myrtle Ricks

Mary Myrtle Ricks, 95, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia 31032. Mrs. Ricks, a longtime member of Shurlington Baptist Church, was presently a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She loved visiting her fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ricks was predeceased by her husband, A. L. Ricks and two grandchildren. Mrs. Ricks is survived by her children, Barbara Hamm (Robert) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dean Griffin (Neil) of Summerville, South Carolina, Elaine Capel (Ron) of St. Petersburg, Florida, LaVerne Ricks (Debbie) of Macon, Georgia, Jerry Ricks (Sheila) of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Marilyn Varnadore (Richard) of Birmingham, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
