Mary Duckworth Nelson

Macon-Mary Duckworth Nelson, 94, died Sunday, December 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with the Reverend Tripp Martin officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 5:00-7:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola. Family may be contacted at the residence of Ann Nelson Purser, 1150 Gareth Lane (LWW). Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Endowment fund at Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of Vineville Baptist for 37 years. She was born in Sumter County Georgia but grew up in Macon. She worked for the Stanley A. Elkan family for over 65 years. Mrs. Nelson retired from Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1981.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Nelson Purser (Richard) of Macon; grandson, Eric Purser (Laura) of Blairsville, GA; great grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Purser; and several nieces and nephews.
