Mary Lee Jackson Riner, 94, died on Saturday morning, April 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elton Riner. Mrs. Riner was born in Toomsboro, Georgia in 1921 to Idas Anthony Jackson and Emma Shinholster Lavender and lived most of her life in Macon, Georgia. She was orphaned by age 6 and was raised by her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Shinholster Lavender Bloodworth. She was a 1940 graduate of Miller High School. During World Word II and the Korean War she was a munitions worker at the Navel Ordnance Plant in Macon. She retired from Answerphone Company after many years as a PBX operator and supervisor. She is survived by her sons, Thomas A. Riner (Bonny) of Macon, Elton J. Riner (Beth) of Bluffton , S.C.; seven grand-children: Troy S. Riner (Brita), Amanda Clifford (Don), Mary A. Clark (Thomas), Sharon A. Fulk (Mike), Ramona Lee Riner, Laura C. Denny (Mark), and Bonny Hanna R. Barlows (Scott); twenty great-grand-children; nine great-great-grand-children and numerous cousins. Burial and graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Macon at 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Viewing will be at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street between the hours of 10:00AM to 12:00PM prior to the burial. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
