Mary K. Huneke

Mary K. Huneke passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Navicent, Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia on April 23, 2026. Family graveside services will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia at a later date.

Mary was born in Sioux City, Iowa to James Bernard and Opal Rosalie (Wiblemo) Curtin. She went to St. Mary’s High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, class of 1962. Mary married John A. Huneke in Almeda, California on May 13, 1967. They lived for many years in Decatur, Georgia. She was employed at the Center for Disease Control. She enjoyed photography and aerobic dancing.

Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Opal Curtin, brothers - Dennis (Loretta), Roger (Betty), and Mike (Wilma) Curtin, sisters-Gloria (Don) Edwards and Virginia Curtin. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
