Mary Frances Friis

Macon-Mary Frances Friis, 81, passed peacefully, November 09, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.

Mrs. Friis was the daughter of Allen Louis Stansbury and Frances Foster Stansbury. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Allen Friis. She was born in Pineora, Georgia and brought up in Natchez, Mississippi. She spent her married life as a Navy wife traveling from the East Coast to Thailand returning to Macon, but continuing her joyful life raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Albert Anderson Friis of Macon; daughter, Catherine Smith (Allen) of Winston Salem, North Carolina; daughter, Cheryl Rozier (Vic) of Smarr, Georgia; son, Glenn Thomas of Jones County, Georgia; daughter, Lynn Ethridge (Glen) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Sugie Friis of West Virginia; grandchildren, Austin Connor Smith, Josh Rozier (Heidi), Jonathan Rozier, Jamie Rozier (Britney), Perry Thomas (Jennifer), Lindsey Thomas Barfield (Cody), Tammy Gazafy, April Ethridge, Kenny Webb (Allison), Jennifer Weldon(Travis); sister, Pat Stansbury of Macon; brother, John Aitken of Chesapeake, Virginia; and including nine great-grandchildren.
