Macon- Mary Adelaide "Dixie" Stewart, 82, of Idle Hour Drive died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at her residence. Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00AM at Christ Church with the Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Christ Church, 582 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to Mercer Law School, Winburn E. Stewart Scholarship Fund, 1021 Georgia Avenue, Macon, GA 31207. Mrs. Stewart was born in Beaver, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1927 to the late Mary Coates and Commander Charles Radcliffe Haffenden, U.S. Navy Reserve, of Long Island, New York. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Winburn E. Stewart. Having graduated from Northfield Academy, Northfield, Massachusetts, Mrs. Stewart then attended Wesleyan College in Macon and was married to architect Bernard A. Webb, Jr. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Since 1970, she had been the owner of Ship & Shore Travel Agency where she specialized in transforming travel into extraordinary, customized luxury experiences, pioneering travel to China. She was a member of Idle Hour Country Club. Mrs. Stewart is survived by sons, Bernard Alexander "Alex" Webb III of Macon, Michael Anthony Haffenden "Tony" Webb of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Christopher Reid Hughes "Reid" Webb of Baghdad, Iraq; step-children, Winburn Earl "Brother" Stewart, Jr. (Deidra) of Macon and "Posey" Rose Stewart Congleton (Joe) of Knoxville, TN, William Martin Stewart of Houston, Texas, and Broadus Willingham Stewart (Rebecca) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Win Stewart III (Morgan) of Denver, CO, Carolyn Morgan (Chris) of Athens, GA, Tyler Congleton (Vi) of Knoxville, TN and Mallary Congleton Walker (John) of San Francisco, CA; great-grandchildren, Win Stewart IV, Fulton Congleton and Rose Stewart Walker; brother, Charles Radcliffe Haffenden (Joan) of Homosassa, FL; nieces and nephew, Karen H. Mueller (Mark) and their children Brant K. Mueller and Lauren M. Mueller, Lisa H. Overstreet (Paul) and their daughter Kaley N. Overstreet; and Mark Charles Haffenden (Audrey).
