Mary Sheppard Beard

Mary Sheppard Beard, 88, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021.  Funeral services will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street with the Reverend Grady Mimbs officiating.  The family will greet friends Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  at Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery Hillview Annex in LaGrange, Georgia.

Daughter of the late Jesse Oscar and Mattie Mae Cummings Sheppard, Ms. Beard was a member of Northridge Baptist Church and former member of Cross Keys Lions Club.  Many knew her from the years she worked at Baconsfield Chi-Chesters Pharmacy.  She loved the Lord and enjoyed singing songs with her family.

Ms. Beard was preceded in death by her sisters, Susie Reynolds, Margaret Bridges, Adell Liles, June Sheppard, and Grace Sheppard; and brothers, John Melton Sheppard, Oscar Herman Sheppard, and John Wesley Sheppard.

Ms. Beard is survived by her children, Mike Beard (Tammy) and Deborah Beard; grandchildren, Rebecca Eagen (Zachary), Wade Beard, and Mattie Beard; great grandchildren, Sophia Eagen and Caleb Eagen; siblings, Connelia Turner, Janice Brown (Theron), Elaine Hoffman (Jimmie), and James Sheppard (Maggie); and several nieces and nephews.
