Mary Rilla Barton

Mary Rilla Barton, 86, of Macon, passed away peacefully in her sleep. For 86 years she brightened our world with her smile. Having ten children who produced 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren was her greatest source of pride. -Born in Twiggs County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Jones and Mary Parker Jones. She was predeceased by her husband, George Barton and two sons, Larry Barton and Terry Barton, and also siblings, Alstean Adams, Ollie Mae Cheeks, and Frances Greer. -She is survived by her children and spouses, Sue Ellen Barton, George Thomas (Tom) and Gwen Barton, Jane and John Jackson, Barry Alan Barton, Barbara Barton NeSmith, Lena Kay Barton, David Kirk Barton, Timothy and Cathy Barton; Daughters-in-law, Shirley Barton and Judy Barton; Brother, John and Sandra Jones; and Sister, Delia Rozier of Macon; 22 Grandchildren and 40 great Grandchildren. -Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the graveside at 2P.M. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ron Watson will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
