Mary Helen Adams

Mary Helen Adams, 96, of Macon, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at Harts Mortuary on Cherry Street on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery. Reverend Jeffery Alligood will officiate. Mrs. Adams was the daughter of Rosier Benjimin Simmons and Quella Rebecca Pierce Simmons. She attended G.S.C.W in Milledgeville, and then taught in Laurens and Twiggs Counties also coaching the girls basketball teams. Mrs. Adams retired from Civil service at Robins AFB. She was an active member of Allentown United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Wyriott C. Adams, Jr. Mrs. Adams loved to write poetry, and often penned special verses honoring her co-worker, friends and family members. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her appreciation of others, especially her loving caregivers at Carlyle Place. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sara Lanier and several nieces and nephews.
