Martin "Marty" Allman

Martin "Marty" Allman, 64, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. Scott Nash officiating. Burial will be private. Family will greet friends one hour before the service, and a reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Georgia C.A.R.E.S, 577 Mulberry Street, Suite 1600, Macon, Georgia 31201. Mr. Allman was a graduate of Lanier High School in 1969 where he was an outstanding three sport athlete. He attended LSU on a basketball scholarship where he played with the legendary Pete Maravich. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1974. He coached at many schools including River North Academy, Tattnall Square Academy, Barnesville Academy, and John Milledge Academy. He won numerous state championships in girls and boys basketball. He recently earned his first degree black belt at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do. Survivors include his daughter, Kate Allman VanWyck (Rusty) of Lizella, son, Davis Allman of Lizella; and sister, Janet Allman Battcher (Jeff) of Macon, Georgia. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
