Martha Adams Thompson

Martha Adams Thompson passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 7, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Jack Varnell and Reverend Payton Stone. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

The family welcomes memorial contributions to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, Macon Outreach, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Martha was born and raised in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of Dana and Martha Adams. She attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, where she met her husband, Kenneth S. Thompson. Martha dedicated herself to her community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Garden Club and History Club, and a lifelong member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. A talented artist, she was also actively involved in the Macon arts community.

She is survived by her children: William Kenneth Thompson of Eatonton, Georgia; Dana Adams Thompson and his wife Katie of Loudon, Tennessee; Mollie Thompson Deal of Macon; and Julia Mitchell Thompson of Roswell, Georgia. Martha is also survived by her grandchildren, Jesse Lee and Ryan Deal of Macon, Clay Adams Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sarah Anne Thompson of Knoxville, Tennessee, as well as one great-grandson, Easton Lee Fountain.
