Martha Harrison Small

Small, Martha Elizabeth Harrison (1919 - 2009) Macon-A resident of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Small died at St. James Place following a brief illness. She was 90, born in Macon, GA, Sept. 6, 1919. The memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5 at the University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, conducted by the Rev. George Haile. Graveside service will be at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 7. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Anne Kimbrough Small Lasch and John A Lasch, and Ruth E. Small Grant and L. Hunter Grant; a son and daughter-in-law, A. Bailey Small, Jr. and Lydia Kosarcyz Small; eight grandchildren, Deborah L. Lasch, John A. Lasch and wife, Lora Boyd Lasch, Elizabeth A. Lasch Simms and husband Robert E. Simms, Sean A. Lasch and wife Patricia Kirk Lasch, Stacie L Small Perkins and husband Scott Perkins, Shannon P. Small, Hunter S. Grant and Kimbrough B. Grant; ten great-grandchildren, Jordan L. Duquette, Jacob A. Leiker, Bailey E. Lasch, Elizabeth A. Lasch, Brandon H. Lasch, Hayley E. Simms, Oliver R. Simms, Alena A. Simms, Tyler S. Perkins, Ryann E. Perkins. She was preceded in death by husband, Augustus Bailey Small; parents, Dr. John G. Harrison and Ruth B. Harrison; brothers, Dr. John G. Harrison, Jr. and William H. Harrison. She was a member of the University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, a member/past president of the Audubon Society and the LSU Arboretum, an active alumna of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, a teacher and a gifted artist. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University Baptist Church, 203 Leeward Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70808; St Joseph Hospice Foundation, 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809; or Harrison Small Scholarship Fund, Mercer Univ., Macon, GA 31207.
