Martha Jo Skeene Horton

Eatonton - Martha Jo Skene Horton, 88, passed away February 18, 2010. A memorial celebration of her life will be private. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Horton, Sr., daughter-in-law, Nancy Horton of Arizona, and a great-grandchild, Whitney Horton of Texas. She is survived by her children, Mel Horton of Arizona, Trisha (Mort) Lewis of Connecticut, Maxine (Charles) Strickland of Virginia; brother, George N. (Marilyn) Skene of Macon; grandchildren, Julie Forester and Leigh (Josh) Loyd of Macon, Chuck (Laura) Horton of Texas, George (Azelma) Horton of Arizona, Patty (Keith) Allen of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Tinsley Loyd of Macon, Blake Horton of Arizona and Trent and Tiffany Allen of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Dudley (Helen Ruth) Horton and Maude (Rudy) Hicks of Eatonton, Neil (Madelyn) Skene of Florida, Pate Skene of North Carolina, Mary Skene of Newnan, Lynn Skene of Bolingbroke, Judy (Joel) Murphy of Atlanta and dear friends, Ed Samuelson and Elizabeth Yates of Eatonton. Mrs. Horton retired from the C & S Bank in 1984 (Bank of America). She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend known to many as G-Jo.
