Martha Helen Nixon

Martha Helen Nixon, 81, of Macon, GA, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cupola.  The family will greet friends following the service.  Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.

Daughter of the late Taylor and Mattie Louise Williams Hooks, Ms. Nixon was born in Unadilla.  She worked in food service at Springdale Elementary and Sonny Carter Elementary. She loved to read, sew, refurbish furniture, going to yard sales, and she had a green thumb.  She also loved to bake, most especially, carrot cakes. Ms. Nixon was preceded in death by her son, Barry Taylor Patterson and sister, Doris Scarborough.

Ms. Nixon is survived by her son, Russell Patterson (Dianne) of Macon; daughter, Tammy Schafer of Macon; grandchildren, Hank Patterson (Casey) of Monroe County, Annie Patterson Jenkins (Nathan) of Madison, Alabama, and A.J. Schafer (Jada); great grandchildren, Levi Patterson and Luke Patterson; sister, Mimi Sinquefield of Cuthbert, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
