Martha Hardy Mills

Martha Hardy Mills, 71, of Macon, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Chapel of the Cupola with the Reverend Tommy Jordan officiating and Chad Brunham speaking.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Daughter of the late Alvah Thomas Hardy, Sr. and Lillian Padgett Hardy, Mrs. Mills attended Cynthia Weir Elementary School and McEvoy High School.  She married in 1967 and started her family shortly thereafter.  The family moved in 1978 from Macon to Maine, then to Abilene, Texas, then to Plattsburg, New York, and finally to Robins Air Force Base in 1986.  After being a proud United States Air Force wife for 19 years, she began her 20-year career with the Georgia Academy of the Blind as a house parent.  She loved her pets and shopping every chance she had.  She was a long-time member of Mable White Baptist Church.  Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Malcom Mills; sister, Brenda Benitez; and great grandson, Ezrah Andrew Flippen.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her son, Troy Davis (Salvatore Guida), of Macon; daughters, Barbara Gail Stone of Macon, and Lisa Michelle Wood (Eddie), of Butler, Georgia; 5 grandchildren, Rachel Mendoza (Manuel) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Ryan Payne and Kayla Payne, both of Macon, Justin Wood (Betty) of Swainsboro, Georgia, and Amanda Flippen (Matthew) of Bonaire, Georgia; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Hardy (Babs) of Sellersburg, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Benny Benitez of Pineview, Georgia.
