Martha Hardison "Bea" Ward

Macon-Martha Hardison "Bea" Ward, 91, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Stan Braley officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Family may be contacted at 1229 Bass Road, the residence of Tom and Gayle Ward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Road, Macon, GA 31210, or donor's favorite charity.

Mrs. Ward was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and flower arranging. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Ward was the widow of Henry Roscoe Ward and the daughter of William Thomas Hardison and Lena Mae Jackson Hardison.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. Ward (Gayle) of Macon, and Brigadier General (Ret.) Roger L. Ward (Joann) of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Clint Ward (Christa) of Macon, Allison Ward Wakefield (Jake) of Macon, Dr. Gregory M. Ward (Shanna) of Albuquerque, N.M., Brian P. Ward of Madrid, Spain, and Diane Ward Catton (Mitchell) of Atlanta; seven great grandchildren; sister, Lorene Shelley of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
