Marjorie Lynn Sleeth

August 16, 1940 — April 2, 2023

Macon

Today we said goodbye to our mom, Marjorie Lynn Sleeth, 82, of Macon, Georgia, who passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, April 2, 2023.  Born in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Dorothy Meaker, she lived in Indianapolis and then a very large part of her remaining life in Highland, Illinois before moving to Georgia.

Mom was loving, creative, talkative, classy, strong and always wore a beautiful smile.  She was a woman who dedicated herself to her husband, Robert (Bob) P. Sleeth, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage and family.  We remember Mom and Dad today as parents who built a family together and we are forever grateful for teaching and showing their kindness, generosity and love for all animals. Mom and Dad spent many years on a little farm outside of Highland, IL where they enjoyed raising chickens, horses, cattle, lots of dogs and cats and making memories for and with us.  Moms first job was as a Flight Attendant and something she was very proud of.  She held other roles but none more important than her role as a mother and grandmother.  If you met Marge or Margie, then you won’t forget her.  Her “gift for gab” as we say was her calling card and it’s what we love so much about her.   One of her hospice RNs shared that “Ms. Margie had a lot of life in that little body” and the first time she met me she said, “I love you” and she meant it with all the meaning in the world.

Marge was extremely loving and proud of her three children, Doug Sleeth (Twilla), of Warner Robins, Georgia; Susan Conti (Angelo), of Clearwater, FL and Mike Sleeth (preceding his mom.) Marge has 6 grandchildren Candice (Matt), Andrew (Charlene), Christine (Thomas), Ryan (Amirah) , Brooke (Sam), Megan, and bonus grandchildren Mike (Mariya) and Amanda (Brock) and 7 great-grandchildren (Ava, Sam, Ben, Abe, Everlee, Crew and Isaac whom she adored.  She is also survived by her sister Patty (Alan) Klepinger as well as her many loving brother and sister in-laws, daughter and sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other close and loving friends.

A private family Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a time and place to be determined in the future.
