Marjorie Lane Lovein

Macon- Marjorie Lane Lovein, 94, died Thursday, May 20, 2010. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tommy Martin officiating. The family may be contacted at 2631 Stanislaus Circle, the residence of Hu and Ann Lovein, and will greet friends in the church sanctuary immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Stratford Academy, Science Building Fund, 6010 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31220 or the charity of the donor's choice. Mrs. Lovein, born in Rocky Ford, Screven County, was the daughter of the late Walter Franklin Lane and the late Lena Howard Lane. She was the wife of the late Hubert Chapman Lovein, Sr. She received her BS degree in education from Georgia College (1966) and was a teacher in the Bibb County School System and a middle school science teacher at Stratford Academy prior to her retirement. Mrs. Lovein was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, the Solomon Fellowship Sunday School Class, Trinity Circle and United Methodist Women and served on the Altar Guild. She was a member of Middle Georgia Historical Society, Jackson Springs Garden Club and the Macon Heritage Foundation. Mrs. Lovein was predeceased by her son, C. Lane Lovein (Margaret), by all of her nine siblings and by all of her late husband's nine siblings. Mrs. Lovein is survived by her son, Hubert C. Lovein, Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Macon; granddaughters, Anna Sharpton (Blake), Kate Lovein and Ellie Lovein; great-grandchildren, Edie Sharpton and Cam Sharpton; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, including the Self and Jackson families of Columbus, all the Loveins of Nashville, GA, Martha and Larry Lane of Pembroke, GA, Philip Sasnett (Joie) of Pelham, AL, and many others.
