Marilyn Boucher Allmond of 1026 Red Oak Dr Macon, died Thursday, March 7, 2013. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street at 11:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Well Fit Program, The Wellness Center, 3797 Northside Dr., Macon, Ga. 31210. Mrs. Allmond is a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. Mrs. Allmond was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts to the late Henry and Clara Boucher on June 18, 1925. In 1943 she moved to Washington, DC, working in the War Department to assist in the war effort. She was among the first Defense Department workers to work in the Pentagon. This is also where she met her late husband Tony R. Allmond. Mrs Allmond and her family resided in the Washington, DC area before moving to West Virginia in 1968. In 1974 the family moved to Macon. Mrs. Allmond was former president of the Shannondale Women's Club and Jefferson County Unit of the American Cancer Association while living in West Virginia in the 1970's. She is a former realtor and worked with MLS for several years. Mrs Allmond is survived by 2 sisters,Ruth Bois (Felix)and Bette Abare (Donald); 6 sons and 4 daughters-in-law, Douglas Allmond (April), Bruce Allmond (Tessie), Thomas Allmond (Helen), James Allmond (Theresa), Paul Allmond, and John Allmond; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and while we were growing up was the second Mom to many, many more.
