Surrounded by love, Marie Matthey Wilson died peacefully on March 10th. Born September 2, 1917 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Elizabeth Heibel and Leon Henri Matthey, she graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, James Anderson Wilson. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Bill Wilson and his wife Margaret of Baton Rouge, Betty Talbot and her husband Tommy of Macon, Julie Wilson Appleby of Richmond, Virginia, and Matt Wilson and his wife Krystyna of Atlanta. She was a beloved "Nana" to her grandchildren: Frank, Matthey, Quentin, Peter, Van, Katherine, Jim, Elizabeth, and Samantha. And she was adored by her great grandchildren: Thomas, Craft, Elizabeth, Brock, Luke, Madeline, Brice, and Kylie. Marie enjoyed golf, bridge, travel, her piano, books, knitting "Nana blankies", and sharing her enthusiastic love of life with her many ,many friends. A celebration of her beautiful life and abiding faith will be held at Christ Church at 2:00 pm on April 9th, with a visitation to follow in the Cloister Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Church Memorial Fund, or to an organization of choice. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
