Marie Caserio Bigler

June 2, 1931 — July 31, 2010

Marie Caserio Bigler 79, of Macon, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph section of Rose Hill Cemetery. Father Allan McDonald will officiate. A Rosary will be said Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street and visitation will follow after service. Although a native Maconite, she had lived in Miami, Florida for six years and Rochester, Minnesota two years. She was the daughter of the late Kathleen and Leo Caserio. Mrs. Bigler graduated from Mt. DeSales Academy, where she was awarded Alumnae of year in 2000. She also graduated from St. Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing in Atlanta and Mayo Clinic School of Anesthesia in Rochester, Minnesota. She was retired from Middle Georgia Anesthesia Services in Macon. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church, Ladies Auxillary of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian American Club. She was a former member of the Beta Phi Chapter of ESA Sorority International, Georgia Association of Nurse Anesthesia, American Assocation of Nurse Anesthesia, American Business Women Association, where she was awarded Woman of the Years in 1986. She was one of the founding members of the Silver Tops of St. Joseph Church and Tuesday night Bible study group. She volunteered at the Family Advancement Ministry since 1998, and was honored by an invitation to become an associate of the Daughters of Charity. She is survived by her children, Catherine Sanders (James) of Macon, John Richard Millican (Veronica) of Anchorage, Alaska. Step Sons, Jimmy V. Bigler of Austell, Ga.; Robert L. Bigler of Warner Robins, Ga.; Sister in law: Mickey Caserio of Warner Robins, Ga.; Grandchildren, Alex Millican of Alaska; Kelly Bloodworth of Macon, Ga.; Todd Bigler of Warner Robins, Ga. and Skye Bigler of Warner Robins, Ga. Six great grandchildren. Nephew, Walter Caserio (Paula) of Albany, Ga. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to St. Joseph Church, 830 Poplar Street, Macon, Ga.31201 or to the Family Advancement Ministries at St. Joseph Church. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
