Marianna Patton Ricketson Walker

Marianna Patton Ricketson Walker, 101, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.  Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Riverside Cemetery.  The memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola on Peake Road.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Mrs. Walker was born on February 11, 1920, in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of Samuel E. and Mary Thomas Patton. She was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School and Wesleyan College.  She was a retired federal employee, and retired from Industrial Welding & Tool Supplies, Inc.  She was a charter member of the Macon Salvation Women’s Auxiliary, long time member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, and a life member of the Mercer University President’s Club.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Carroll A. Walker; two sons, Emory Ricketson, of Murphy, North Carolina and George Ricketson (Violette), of San Antonio, Texas; Mary Ricketson, of Murphy, North Carolina; her faithful caregiver and adopted daughter since May 1995, Celena D. Williams; grandchildren, Marianna R. Ricketson, Tsali W. B. Ricketson (Cherry), and Lee F. Ricketson (Kate); greatgrandchildren, Saia Husain, Talei Ericka Ricketson, Kaiya Lynn Ricketson, and Melia Lilly Ricketson; sister-in-law, Jessie Patton, and special friends, Dr. Thomas Woodcock (Lash), Hayes Capps (Clay), Lawton Capps, and Randolph Capps, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joseph Ricketson; and siblings, Emory Patton, Evelyn P. Clemence, James Patton, Henry Patton, Dr. Sam Patton, Joseph Patton, Marion Patton, and George Patton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marianna’s honor to Highland Hills Baptist Church, or The Salvation Army.
