Margie Elizabeth Frost

Mrs. Margie Hobby Frost died January 19 at Lynn Haven Nursing Home. She was born Margie Elizabeth Hobby on November 25, 1924 in Miami, Florida to James Glenn and Ollie Lee Taylor Hobby. She lived most of her life in Macon, graduating in 1942 from A.L. Miller High School, then going on to Crandall Business School. Margie was the first secretary at McEvoy High School (1960-66). Later, she opened the first health food store in Macon, Mia's Health Foods, which is still in business today. Still later, she was a successful real estate agent in the Macon area at Sheridan, Solomon and Kernaghan. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Charles Frost and her son Kenneth Bradley Frost. She is survived by her daughter, Eden F. Combes (Furman) of Savannah, her son, the Reverend Chuck Frost (Lou April) of Atlanta, grandchildren, Tom Combes, Page Sauder, Christopher Frost and Cable Frost and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Glenn Hobby and Duke Hobby, sisters Freda Wilson, Ida Cone, Elaine Arias and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Lynn Haven Special Interests Fund, 747 Monticello Highway, Gray, GA 31032 Friends may sign the online register at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
