Margarete Roeseler Rantze

Margarete Roeseler Rantze, 101, of Macon, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Riverside Cemetery (north gate) with the Reverend Cynthia Knapp officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to All About Animals, P.O. Box 4331, Macon, GA 31208.

Daughter of the late Carl G. and Bertha Keppner Roeseler, Mrs. Rantze attended Hackensack High School in New Jersey, then Pratt Secretarial School in New York City.  She was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Leonia, New Jersey, and current member of Christ Church in Macon.  She was also a Cub Scout Leader and Girl Scout Leader.  Mrs. Rantze loved dancing, gardening, and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time at Lake Sinclair on the weekends and gardening.  Mrs. Rantze was preceded in death by her husband, George Frederick Rantze Jr.; brother, Lee Roeseler; and son-in-law, Michael Andrew Jones.

Mrs. Rantze is survived by her children, Gordon P. Rantze (Beth M.) of Cardiff by the Sea, California, and Gail Jones of Macon; grandchildren, Sandra Rantze Rubanov (George), Edward G. Rantze (Mavis) of Suwanee, Georgia, Elizabeth Rantze Lostukoff (Jake) of Santa Monica, California, Philip Jones (Laura Barton) of Juliette, Georgia, and Heather Jones of Macon; great grandchildren, Lula Kathryn Jones, Sullivan Andrew Jones, Rebecca Rubanov, Melanie Rubanov, Amelia Rantze, Emily Rantze, and Clara Jones.

Hart’s at the Cupola, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210 has charge of the arrangements.
