Margaret Ray Gibson

Margaret Ray Gibson, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Vineville Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Kremer officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Family will greet friends between 5:00-7:00PM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Hart's at the Cupola. Mrs. Gibson was born in Starkville, Mississippi, the daughter of the late James Davis Ray and Frankie Tipton Turner Ray. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi State University. She was a retired school teacher from First Presbyterian Day School. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Vineville Baptist Church, Morning Music Club, and DAR. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. John F. Gibson, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Dr. John F. Gibson of Macon; daughter, Mary Gay Pittman (Joseph B.) of Hazel Green, Alabama; son, T. Baron Gibson, II (Susie) of Macon; eleven grandchildren, Robert J. Pittman (Amy), SSgt. John Douglas Pittman (Megan), Katherine E. Pittman, Margaret June Pittman, Mary Frances Pittman, Carolyn E. Gibson, John F. Gibson, III (Emily), T. Baron Gibson, III, Kent Taylor Gibson, Susie S. Gibson, and Sadie C. Gibson; three great grandchildren, Madi Carden, Emma Grace Pittman, and Rachel M.
