Margaret Lawson Council

Macon- Margaret Lawson Council, 94, of 300 Charter Boulevard, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with Dr. James Dant officiating. The family may be contacted at 111 Shoreline Drive and will greet friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at the funeral home on Saturday. Mrs. Council was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, the Sara Harold Sunday School Class, Women On Mission, and the Heart of Georgia Quilting Guild. A retired registered nurse, she graduated from the Macon Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in all phases of nursing for forty years and was the Director at Mercer University Infirmary for twenty-five years. Mrs. Council was predeceased by her son, William Leroy Lawson. Mrs. Council is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Brown Heath and son-in-law, Miller Heath, Jr. of Macon; daughter-in-law, Morgan Lawson of California; grandchildren, Lawson Brown, Heather Brown Anderson, and Travis Lawson; stepchildren, M. H. Council, Jr. (Dot) of Cartersville and James Council (Judy) of Milledgeville; step-grandchildren. Online register is located at www.hartsmort.com.
