Malissa Angel Blodgett, affectionately known as "Sweet Malissa” and “Sissy,” passed away on July 25, 2025, in Macon, Georgia at the age of 51. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Hart’s at the Cupola with Reverend Joey Ellis officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at United Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia.
Malissa was born in Dalton, Georgia on September 26, 1973, and graduated from Southeast High School. She loved going to church and was a member of Stone Edge Church, where her faith was both her guide and support.
Malissa enjoyed participating in and traveling to the Special Olympics. She also loved traveling with her family and being a “war prayier” for her friends and family. One of Malissa’s most cherished leisure activities was celebrating the legacy of Elvis Presley. She found immense joy in attending performances by Elvis impersonators.
Malissa is survived by her mother, Gwen Bryant of Macon; brother, Jeremy D. Bryant (Danyelle) of Macon; nephews, Jeremy D. Bryant Jr. and Jarrett Bryant; uncle, Tommy Glen Bryant (Brenda) of Dalton, Georgia; aunt, Gail Arnold (Gary) of Dalton, Georgia; many nieces and nephews and all of her many special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Barbara Queen.
