Mabel Justice Roberts

Mabel Justice Roberts, 95, of Juliette, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, with Pastor Baxter Hurley officiating. The family will greet friends for a time of visitation one hour before the service.  Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia.

Mabel was born on June 23, 1929, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late Jay, Sr. And Matha Justice.  She moved from Kentucky to Georgia in 1954.  She raised four children all while attending Dudley Hughes Cosmetology School.  She was a hairstylist in Macon for thirty-four years.

After retiring in 1995, she and her husband, Johnny, bought a concession stand.  They named it “Tip-Top Concessions” and traveled all over Georgia to fairs and festivals like Macon’s Annual Cherry Blossom Festival.  She was a talented seamstress who won several blue ribbons at the Georgia State Fair.  Mabel was an avid square dancer for over 17 years. She participated in numerous local and state conventions as well as 10 national square-dancing conventions winning multiple ribbons.

Mabel enjoyed working in her yard and making ceramics.  She loved her family and her friends dearly, and she will be greatly missed.

Mabel is survived by her children, Sandi Anness of Milledgeville, Georgia; Sheila Williams (Larry) of Cairo, Georgia; Dianah Smith of Fort Valley, Georgia; Donna Ussery and Sandra Hathaway (Ronnie) both of Macon, and John “Robby” Roberts III (Shari) of Houston, Texas; her 14 grandchildren; her 23 great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Brewer of Monroe, Michigan; She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Johnny Oscar Roberts, her siblings, Arland Justice, Jay Justice, Jr., and Beatrice Breakencamp; Catherine Hoak of Englewood, Florida; and her special companion, Ron Haynes.
