Mabel Middlebrooks Bassett Greene, 98, of 149 Wakefield Drive, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00PM at Macon Memorial Park with the Reverend Steve Keck officiating. The family will greet friends at the graveside following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mrs. Greene was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Elvin Bassett and Virgil W. Greene, her parents, Paul Edwin and Lillie May Adams Middlebrooks, and her siblings, Lucille Grant, Margie Pilcher, Sara Tanner, Christine Edwards and Paul Edwin Middlebrooks, Jr. Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Bassett Jacobs (Edward), Gail Bassett Bass (Ted) and Susan Bassett Haney; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
