Lynda Louise Kearson Moore

Lynda Kearson Moore, 76, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital, after an extended illness. The family will greet friends from 5PM-7PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Ingleside Baptist Church, with David Peterson officiating. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.

Lynda was born on June 5, 1948, in Ware County. After graduating from Ware County High School in 1966, Lynda attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. It was there where she met her soon to be husband, Charles A Moore. Their studies were interrupted when they had to move to Italy for the Vietnam war. Once they moved back to the states, Lynda graduated from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s of science in 1975. She taught for many years at Sallas Mahone before moving to Macon, in 1989.

She continued teaching in Macon while also continuing her educational journey by attending Mercer University. It was there she was able to obtain her Masters in Education in 1993, and Specialist in Education in 1995. Lynda continued teaching until her retirement in 2002. Lynda was also an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church.

Lynda was preceded in death by her college sweetheart, Charles Arnold Moore; parents, Fred Thomas and Emma Louise Thigpen Kearson; two brothers, Freddy and Andy Kearson; and sister, Annette Kearson Swain. She is survived by two children, Chuck Moore (Connie) of Brunswick and Kerri Moore of Birmingham, Alabama; two grandchildren, Connor and Cayden Moore; three brothers, Larry Kearson, Terry Kearson (Debbie), Morris Kearson (Pearl) of Ware County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
