Luther Bennett (Benny) Lewis, Jr. 72, of Byron, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011. A celebration of life will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, Peake Road. Burial will be private. Reverend Sidney McCloud will officiate. Born in Milan, Georgia, he is the son of the late L.B. and Dorothy Carpenter Lewis. He was a retired electrician with the I.B.E.W. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Lewis, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Debra Clanton Lewis of Byron, Ga.; Children, Sandy Lewis(Frank) Williams of Danville, Ga; Shawn Clanton(Marie) of Byron, Ga.; Luther Bennett Lewis, III of Dry Branch, Ga.; Jimmy Lewis of Dry Branch, Ga.; David(Rosie) Lewis of Gray, Ga.; Scotty (Laurie) Lewis of Dry Branch, Ga.; Christie Hamilton Marsh of Macon, Ga. 15 Grandchildren and 14 great Grandchildren. Sister, Bessie Lewis Stewart of Macon, Ga. Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and his faithful companion, Precious.
