Lucille Thames Clarke

Lucille Thames Clarke died Friday, June 7, 2013 at the age of 87. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Avondale Baptist Church with Reverend Marty Watson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service. Lucille was born July 7, 1925 to the late Wallace and Fannie Thames and was a lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia. She was a member of Avondale Baptist Church. Lucille worked for her brother in his grocery store for many years and later worked at Bryant's Grocery before retiring. She was preceded in death by her three brothers Frank Thames, George Thames, and Bill Thames and one sister Nell Mathews. Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Clarke (Dario) of Tucker, Georgia and Beth Lasseter of Warner Robins, Georgia; sister, Elizabeth (Beck) Hudson of Macon; grandchildren, Andrew Abernathy (Lindsay) of Atlanta, Amy Abernathy of Savannah and Anna Lasseter of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Rowan Abernathy; many nieces and nephews. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville, Georgia for the care and dignity they provided our Mother the last years of her life.
