Macon- Lucile Shi Hanson, 81, of 1314 Normandy Road, died Thursday, January 29, 2009. Services will be held Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Forest Hills United Methodist Church, with the Reverend John Haney of Savannah officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence. Mrs. Hanson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Shi, was born October 1, 1927. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wesley Hanson. A graduate of Wesleyan College, Mrs. Hanson was a teacher for more than forty years in several local schools, primarily at Miller High School and First Presbyterian Day School. She taught geometry, calculus, algebra and trigonometry. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and the Faithful Friends Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hanson is survived by her children, Lillian Lucile Thompson (Tommy) of Macon, John Wesley Hanson, Jr. of Syracuse, New York and Robert Fletcher Hanson of Macon; grandchildren, David Thompson, Tiffany Lucile Thompson Buckthal, Eric Thompson, Melissa Bozarth, Kelly Bozarth, Leah Hanson, Janie-Elyse Hanson, Ryan Hanson and Rick Hanson; great-grandchild, Bradley Buckthal.
