Louise Yates Smith

Charlotte, NC-Louise Yates Smith, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died Saturday, October 17, 2009. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11 AM at Hart's Mortuary and Crematory at the Cupola with the Reverend Wyatte Fraiser officiating. Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Donations may be made to the Hospice of South Charlotte, 7845 Little Ave., Charlotte, NC 28226.

Mrs. Smith was a member of New Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmo E. Yates, Sr., mother, Lula Webb Yates, husband, Thomas D. Smith, brother, Eugene Yates, and sister-in-law, Floye Yates. She was a dedicated homemaker, church worker, and private tutor.

Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Hood (Charles) of Charlotte, NC, and Nancy Liles (Doug) of Hermitage, TN; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
