Louise Grace Richland Stone, 81, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow the service at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens in Forsyth, GA. If you knew Louise, you’ll understand that “in lieu of flowers” meant send flowers. They will be appreciated.
Daughter of the late Harold Richland Sr. and Marjorie Fair Richland, Louise was born November 9, 1942, in Miami, Florida.
A graduate of Hialeah High School in 1960, Louise entered the workforce with the same dedication and spirit she applied to all areas of her life. Her work career included being a cashier at A&P Grocery Store on Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA. She later found a long-term professional career as an operator with Southern Bell (AT&T). She retired after more than 35 years of committed service.
Louise was of Catholic faith and attended mass in Jacksonville. Her hobbies included many engaging conversations on the phone and joyfully watching her favorite television shows—a pastime that connected her to the world and its stories. Above all, Louise cherished her role as a loving grandmother to all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, enriching her family with love, laughter, and wisdom. Her role as a loving grandmother was cherished by her family, and the tradition of sending flowers to brighten someone's day will forever be associated with her caring essence.
Louise will be lovingly remembered by her son, Milton Daniel “Danny” Martin IV (Vicki), of Macon, Georgia; grandsons, Milton Daniel “Danny” Danny Martin V, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Daniel Alexander Martin, of Macon, Georgia; brothers, Harold W. Richland, Jr. (Donna), of Forsyth, Georgia, and Bernard “Ben” Richland, of Macon, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Harold “Tripp” W. Richland, III (Kristi), of Jacksonville, Florida, Andrew “Andy” Richland (Whitney), of Statesboro, Georgia, James “Jim” Richland (Jenna), of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Katie Whitley (Patrick), of Forsyth, Georgia, and Vanessa Martinez (Ben), of Tallahassee, Florida; there numerous great nieces and nephews including: Hunter Richland, Avery Richland, Andrew Richland, Noah Richland, Isaac Richland and Clara Richland, Welles Whitley, Scout Whitley; James “Jay” Long, Daniel Long (Jasmine), Benjamin Martinez,
Great-Great Nephews and Nieces are Oliver Long, Lillian Long, and Caleb Long.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, James F. Richland.
