Louise Becham Griffin, 89, passed away surrounded by her children at home on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fort Valley, Georgia. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 409410, Atlanta, Georgia 30384 or to United Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Becham, Lee Becham, Johnny Ivey, Ronny Kitchens, Clint Bullock and Mike Bond. Mrs. Griffin was born in Roberta, Georgia to Frank and Ola Becham. She was retired from Colonial Stores and was a homemaker. She loved working in her yard and making things grow. She was a member of Byron Baptist Church. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, I. Brad Griffin, her son, Robert Earl Griffin, granddaughter, Debra Davis, brother, Frank L. Becham, sisters, Betty Garner, Carolyn Pender, Frances Becham, Sara Veal and Gladys Ward. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughters, Martha Kitchens (Ronny) and Barbara Ivey (Johnny) and her sons, Bill Griffin (Rebecca) of Aiken, South Carolina and David Griffin of Athens, Georgia; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Becham of LaGrange, Georgia.
