Loretta Proctor Mears

Loretta Proctor Mears, 88, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 4, 2018, while surrounded by her loved ones. Loretta was born March 25, 1930 in Twin City, Georgia to the late Remer Francis and Bessie Johnson Proctor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Maurice L. Mears, Sr.; step son, Robert E. "Bob" Mears, Sr.; five sisters, Leona Andrews, Naomi Linder, Ruby Oglesby, Audrey Barnwell, and Betty Spell, and a brother, Marlow Proctor. She is survived by her children, James Bartholomew, Barbara Davis (Billy), Mary Beth Hyder (Joe), Brian E. Mears, Sr. (Cindy), and Brenda Brown (Mark), her daughterin-law, Kiyoko Mears (Bob) and her brother James Proctor Sr.. She was also a loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A retired seamstress, Loretta loved spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Maurice. She enjoyed gardening and camping. A Celebration of Loretta's Life will be held privately by her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donation be made in her memory to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
