Lois Ussery Whitaker

Macon- Lois Ussery Whitaker, 94, passed away Saturday December 11, 2010. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 14, 2010, at 2:00PM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street with grandson the Reverend Tab Howell, the Reverend Ron Watson and Dr. Bill Hardee officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Morningside Baptist Church 3519 Jeffersonville Road, Macon, GA 31217. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Mrs. Whitaker was born in McIntyre, GA, in Wilkinson County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Isaac Whitaker, and her brothers, Otis and Buford Ussery. She was the daughter of Wiley Clemmon & Odessa Daniels Ussery and her loving step mother, Lucille Ussery. She was also preceded in death by her Aunts, Gladys Hall and Essie Eady of McIntyre, GA. Survivors: Son, John Merwyn (Ann) Whitaker of Huntsville, AL; Daughters, Joy (Wendell) Howell of Macon, GA; Wanda (Scott) Fitzgerald of Macon, GA; Diane (Kenneth) Howell of Albany, GA; Grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Dale, Ken Howell, Kerry (Paige) Howell, Van (Wendy) Howell, Lee Ann (John) Scheiman, Tab (Candace) Howell, John Michael (Jessica) Howell; Great grandchildren, Bobby and Cutter Brown, John Kerry, Jane and Bo Whitaker Howell, Elizabeth Olivia Howell, John Whitaker, James Gerald, Fite Scheiman, Noah Jay, Titus Samuel, and John Wheeler Howell. Mrs. Whitaker is also survived by her sister, Rose Marie Blizzard of Deepstep, GA, Mrs. Whitaker, a homemaker, was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and employed by The Bibb County Board of Education.
