Lois Wheeler Eschen of 749 Blanton Boulevard died Saturday, November 7, at age 82, from complications of a stroke. A native of Macon, she was the daughter of the late Walter Donald and Lois Hart Wheeler. Mrs. Eschen graduated from A.L. Miller High School in 1943 and from Wesleyan College in 1947. She taught at O'Keefe High School in Atlanta while her husband finished work on his Masters Degree at Georgia Tech. She was a charter member of Ingleside Baptist Church. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs over the years. She also taught bridge to individuals and clubs for several years. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Herbert Eugene Eschen; daughter and son-in-law Sandi Eschen Keel and Walter Malone Keel of Big Canoe; grandchildren Catherine Keel Beck (Mrs. Roger), and Lauren Keel Shinn (Mrs. Jason); daughter and son-in-law Donna Eschen Lane and David Lane of Atlanta; grandchildren Hayden (wife Natalie) and Lindsey Lane; great grandchildren Nathan Beck and Abi Shinn; and cousin Wyolene Hart Griner of Macon. She was preceded in death by grandson Cody Lane. Funeral services will be held at Harts Mortuary on Wednesday, November 11 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be private at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until noon at Harts Mortuary.
