Linda Ann Mizelle, 83, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00am, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Northside Christian Church, 5024 Northside Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210 or visit nccmacon.com.
Linda was born on January 23, 1943, to the late Morris Joseph and Mercer Ann Mizelle Curry. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Education, and then received her Master’s Degree in Education from Mercer University.
Linda’s career in education included teaching 8th and 9th grade Social Studies classes in the Bibb County School System for thirty years. Linda served as the Social Studies Department Head for eighteen years.
Linda was a faithful and active member of Northside Christian Church for forty-five years where she was involved in ladies’ groups as well as served in countless ministries until her declining health prevented her from doing so.
As an active gardener, Linda loved planting and nurturing her pots and flower beds. She looked forward to the changing seasons and bringing new color and life to her surroundings. A lover of friendship and board games, she spent many hours in fellowship and friendly competition with the “Gaming Gals” group, as well as neighborhood friends around the kitchen table.
While she enjoyed a full life with her hobbies, her ultimate joy was found in spending quality time with her four grandchildren over the years. Always looking for ways to make memories, she spent countless afternoons with them, going to the Museum of Arts and Sciences, walking on nature trails, feeding ducks, and attending almost every circus, movie, and attraction that came to town.
Linda served as a role model for her family in her unwavering love for Jesus, integrity, and wisdom. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed until we see her again.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Green (Tony) of Monroe County; her four grandchildren, Regan Green (Hannah-Claire), Carson Green, Griffin Green, and Claudia Green; her great grandchild, Davis Green; her brother, Richard Curry (Suzy) of St. Augustine, Florida; and her sister, Cindy Scott (Paul) of Scottsdale, Arizona.
