Lewis Edward Smith

Lewis Edward Smith passed away on November 27, 2016. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 with Sonny Seneker officiating. A visitation will held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Idyll Acres Horse Rescue Ranch, 312 Hwy. 18W, Gray, GA 31032 or Wellstar Hospice, 475 Dickson Ave., Marietta, GA 30064. Lewis was predeceased by his sons, Lewis Smith Jr., and David Lamb; and parents Edward and Inez Smith. He was a pastor for 52 years serving many churches including Thomaston Road Baptist, Dunwoody Baptist in Atlanta, Church of the Wildwood and Lakeview Baptist. He was a graduate of Mercer University and owned and operated Idyll Acres Horse Rescue Ranch for 16 years. Lewis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diana Smith; children, Virginia Lott (Dalton) of Alaska, Tina Engram (Randy) of Macon, Eddie Smith (Judy) of Kathleen, and Lisa Rogers (Donnie) of Gray; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy King of Lafayette, Louisiana and Eloise Holland of Gray.
