Leslie Hudson Dopson

Leslie Hudson Dopson, 92, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with Dr. John Kinser and the Reverend Teresa Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to United Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210, Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, Georgia 31210 or to the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Dopson was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base and longtime owner of Jack's Saw Shop, Inc. She was a member of the Grantwood Sewing Club, The Federated Garden Club and the Bibb County Homemakers' Club. She was a great example of what a strong Christian wife, mother and grandmother should be. Mrs. Dopson was predeceased by her husband of seventy-two years, James M. (Bill) Dopson, Jr.; parents, Eugenia Hudson and George M. Hudson; her son, Ronald M. Dopson; sisters, Alice Davis, Mary Lou Stanley; brother, George M. Hudson. Mrs. Dopson is survived by her son, Jimmy Dopson of Macon; daughter, Deborah Weaver (Ron) of Macon; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dopson of Macon; grandchildren, Jay Dopson (Paige) of Snellville, Jennifer Hays (Greg) of Lawrenceville, Andy Dopson (Katey) of Griffin, Scott Dopson (Ginny) of Macon, Melissah Weiner (Bob) of Lakeland, Florida, Jennifer Smith (Barry) of Lakeland, Florida and James Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
