Leroy C. (Roy) Doscher

June 12, 1928 — February 3, 2013

LeRoy C. (Roy) Doscher, 84, died Sunday, February 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 4:00PM in Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, South Carolina. Memorials may be made to the Ingleside Baptist Church building fund, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Doscher was born to John and Rilla Doscher in 1928 in Graniteville, South Carolina. He was the youngest of eight children, six brothers and one sister, all of whom are deceased. He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Doscher's career started with the Bell System as an equipment installer with Western Electric in 1947. He retired as a manager in 1983 after various assignments in Georgia with Southern Bell Telephone Company. His main hobbies were hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He had been associated with various hunting, woodworking and gun clubs. Mr. Doscher was predeceased by his wives, Ann Padgett Doscher and Katie Caldwell Wright Doscher; brothers, J.C., Henry, Ernest, Charlie, Willie and David; and sister, Ruby Edwards. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Collier Doscher; son, David E. Doscher (Ann) of Greer, South Carolina, daughters, Susan Chaffin (David) of Springdale, Arkansas, and Kay Lawrence (Robert) of Dublin, Georgia; son, Chuck Doscher (Lisa) of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; and nine grandchildren.
