Leonard Jackson Lavender, Jr., (Jack), 66, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Jimmy Corbitt officiating. The family will meet friends at the Cupola from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, 774 Hazel Street, Macon, GA 31201. Jack was the son of the late Leonard Jackson Lavender, Sr., and Charlotte Watson Lavender. The love of his life and wife of 36 years, Andrea Pyrz Lavender, preceded him in death. Jack graduated from Lanier High School, and Macon Jr. College. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. He was a Christ follower who retired as Director of Canaan Land Prison Ministry. Jack loved music and spent hours writing songs, singing, and playing his keyboard and guitar. Survivors include his sister, Linda Lavender Sutton of Macon; niece Amie Sutton Murphy (Terry) of Macon; and great-niece, Katelyn Sutton, other nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
