Leon Ray Kitchens

Leon Ray Kitchens passed away on April 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 5,2016 at 2:00 PM at Morningside Baptist, 3519 Jeffersonville Rd, Macon, GA 31217. Reverend Ron Watson and Dr. Bill Hardee will be officiating with burial at Henderson Stripling Cemetery on Henderson Rd. The visitation will be held on Monday, April 4,2016, from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Harts Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane Gray, GA. He was predeceased by his wife Vivian Joyce Skipper; and parents Oscar Ross and Maggie Yearty Kitchens. He was also predeceased by his eight siblings, Susie Riggins, John Kitchens, O.R. Kitchens, Nolan Kitchens, Eva Blankenship, Bertha Epps, Elizabeth Woodward and Luther Kitchens. He was a veteran in the United States Air Force and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Macon Amateur Radio Club (call #WU4C), raised poultry for Strain Poultry and was retired from GA Kraft. Survivors include daughters, Luann McCook (Marcus) of Jones County and Barbara Davis (Dwaine) of Jones County; grandchildren, Dana Tice (Chris) of Jones County and Brandi Alkire (Mason) of Locus Grove; great grandchildren, Makenzie Lewis (Austin) of Norfolk, Virginia and Paige of Jones County, Savannah, Jessica and Josh; and sister-in-law Nell Milam of Macon, GA.
