Leon Edward Barfield, Jr.

Leon Edward Barfield, Jr., 78, of Dry Branch, GA passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel.  The family will greet friends following the service.  A private burial will be held at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Son of the late Leon Edward Barfield, Sr. and Estelle Watson Barfield, Leon was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Robins Air Force Base.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Macon. He was a woodworker and loved to sing Karaoke.  Leon was preceded in death by his brother, Horace Barfield.

Leon is survived by his wife, Myra Barfield of Dry Branch; daughter, Lisa Johnson (Shon) of Macon; son, Leon E. Barfield, III of Dry Branch; stepsons, Chris Strong (Shannon) of Haddock, Georgia, Micah Strong (Tangie) of Lake Sinclair, Georgia, and Mark Strong of Macon; grandchildren, MaKayla Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Joseph Daniel Barfield, and Michael Barfield; step grandchildren, Conner Strong, Garrett Strong, Payton Strong, Mason Strong, and Justin Strong; and sister, Melissa Anderson (Steve) of Bessemer City, North Carolina.
