Lenward Alley

Dry Branch- Lenward Alley, of Dry Branch, passed away Friday August 21, 2009. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 24, 2009, at 11:00AM at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 23, 2009, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church, In care of the Alley Memorial Fund 4277 Sgoda Road, Macon, GA 31217. Mr. Alley served in the United States Navy receiving an Honorable Discharge. He retired from RAFB in civil service after 27 years in the Vehicle Transportation Department. Mr. Alley was an avid bowler and race fan. He also attended Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: Parents, Charles Davis and Mary Alley; 2 children, Gregory Scott and Sonja Patrice Alley; Brothers, George Davis Alley and William "Tot" Alley; Sisters, Alicia Jane Lewis, Mary Alice Foskey and Sarah Cook. Survivors: Wife, Joan Alley of Dry Branch; Son, Ryan Alley of Dry Branch; Brother, John Mack Alley (Loretta) of Thomson; Sister, Marguerite Langel Moore (Doyle) of Cochran; Sister, Dorothy Ann Stroup of Warner Robins.
