Leigh Brody, 75, of Macon, died Friday, May 6, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Sha'arey Israel section in the Rose Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Rachel Bat-Or officiating. Mr. Brody was a member and past president of Congregation Sha'arey Israel. He was past President of the Jewish Federation, former owner of Kite's Bootery, and former Manager and Agent Emeritus of Genworth Financial. A graduate of The University of Georgia, Mr. Brody was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan. He served in the United States Army and Reserves. Mr. Brody was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Hannah Brody. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Gloria Schwartz Brody of Macon; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Scott and Allison Brody of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Steven Mizrahi of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Lillie Brody, Joe Brody, Aidan Brody, Hannah Mizrahi, and Eli Mizrahi; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and John Jennings of Short Hills, New Jersey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stuart and Viola Schwartz, Bob and Renee Schwartz; Bert and Edith Schwartz; Carolyn Schwartz and the late Dr. Larry Schwartz, all of Macon; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and many wonderful, special friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Sha'arey Israel, 611 First Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 or to the Macon Chapter of Hadassah, 506 Wesleyan Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210.
